CE FAQS

1. What are CEUs?

Continuing Education Units.

2. Who must take continuing education units?

All Florida-licensed adjusters, regardless of license type or claim practice.  This means W/C, Auto, Property, General Liability, Marine, Commericial Lines, Personal Lines, and even Public Adjusters.

It makes no difference if you have a 524, 624, 520, 620 or any other type of license, the requirement exists.

3. What is the CEU requirement?

The State of Florida requires, of all adjusters, 24 hours of CE in a two-year period referred to as a “compliance period”.  The 24 hours are broken into specific categories as follows:

      • Law  - 10 Hours
      • Optional - 12 Hours
      • Ethics -  2 Hours

4. What is my compliance period?

Your compliance period typically begins on the first day of month immediately following your birth month after you were licensed.

5. How can I request a copy of my credits on file or CEU transcripts?

The WCCP can provide you with a transcript of all credits earned through the WCCP. However, because there are other providers from whom you may have secured CE credits during your compliance period, you may have to get your transcript from the Florida Department of Financial Services.  The following link will take you directly to the Agent Education Database where you can get your own official transcript:

6. What should I do if I attended a course and the CEUs do not appear on my transcript?

Course rosters are reported by the WCCP to the Department of Financial Services within 30 days after a course offering. These credits go immediately into their online system and are immediately available. If the allotted time has lapsed, the course was provided by the WCCP, and you still don’t find the credits on your roster, please fax or email us the name of the course, the date and location attended, and the number of CEUs that are missing from your transcript.  Include a copy of the Certificate of Completion if available. We will research the “sign in sheets” for the specified course and if signature is verified we will forward correction to the DOI to update the licensee’s transcripts.

7. What happens if I am not in compliance? Can I get an extension?

Contact the Department of Financial Services/Bureau of Licensing at 1-850-922-3137 (Ext. 1101) for assistance.

8. How do I change my address with the Department of Financial Services?

This information can only be changed online. Go directly to the Department of Financial Services Licensing website and confirm/change your demographic information:

9. How do I change my name on my adjuster license to my married name?

The same way.  Go to the DFS’ website at the link above. Please do not sign in at WCCP classes or seminars with your married name until the DOI or ASI has verified your name change. CE credits will not process.
