Licensees Urged to Check Addresses! The DFS has also asked the PCCP to request that all Florida-licensed claims adjusters check the accuracy of their addresses and other demographic information necessary for licensure. You can easily do this by simply clicking on the following link and accessing the Names & Addresses link at the bottom right-hand corner of the page. You will find it to be a very simple process:
New CE Laws Have Little Impact on WC Adjuster Licensees... Continuing education is not just for W/C adjusters any more, and will impact more than 25,000 Florida-licensed resident and non-resident claims adjusters. However, this new law will have little impact on workers compensation adjuster licensees. CE requirements remain the same, as do compliance periods. The good news is that adjusters will now be able to secure their CEs through ONLINE and correspondence distance learning courses. Click here for more on this...
Type of license (All Lines, Limited W/C, P&C, etc.) is irrelevant. Any Florida-licensed adjuster, whether resident or non-resident, must secure CE. The biggest impact will be on the commercial and personal lines auto, homeowners, general liability, property, marine, maritime, PIP/No Fault, and other types of adjusters.
The WCCP is working closely with the Department of Financial Services/Education Section in the implementation of this new law, and they have asked for our assistance in communicating these changes to the Florida claims community while they finalize the CE "Rules". The formal Rules will probably not be finalized or published by DFS for some time to come.
Until then, if you or your employer has any question(s) at all about this new law and how it may affect you, contact the WCCP Administrative Office.
