Effective
January 1, 2022, the 5-Hour Law and Ethics Update course requirement
will be reduced to a 4-Hour Law and Ethics Update requirement. Section 626.2815,
F.S. was amended to reflect this change during the 2021 Legislative
Session. Education providers will begin offering the new 4-Hour Law and
Ethics Update courses on January 1, 2022, so be on the lookout for the
new courses if your compliance cycle is due on or after January 31,
2022.
When the change goes into effect, individuals licensed for less than
six years will have to complete a 4-Hour Law and Ethics Update course,
and 20 hours of elective credits for a total of 24 hours of CE. Those
individuals licensed for more than six years are required to complete a
4-Hour Law and Ethics Update and 16 hours of elective credits, for a
total of 20 hours of CE. Individuals licensed for 25 years or more who
hold a CPCU, CLU, or RMI degree are required to complete a 4-Hour Law

Kids’ Chance Week is moving from November to October in 2025!
Kids’
Chance Week, established in 2014, plays a vital role in elevating the
visibility of our mission. By uniting our efforts each year during this
dedicated week, we amplify our impact and reach a broader audience.
Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of children
affected by workplace injuries.
Every
member of the Kids’ Chance community can support our mission during
Kids’ Chance Week. By coming together one week each year, we concentrate
our efforts, which boosts our volume. Join our national movement for
one day or for the whole week. Every action makes a difference.
Kids’ Chance Week offers many ways for you to participate in supporting children affected by workplace injuries.
One of the KCFL Student Engagement activities during the week is providing care packages to our current scholarship recipients.
Kids’ Chance believes that we can make a significant difference in the lives of all children affected by a workplace injury by helping them pursue and achieve their educational goals. Kids’ Chance Awareness
Week provides a national platform to increase visibility for the Kids’ Chance mission. There are many ways for you to get involved and show your support. Visit the Kids’ Chance of Florida website
for more information.
Help Us Identify Applicants
When a worker is severely injured or killed on the job, it doesn’t just affect them – it affects their entire family. Thinking about the future is put off, and when the time comes, the cost of higher education can be well out of reach. That’s where
Kids’ Chance can help. If you have a potential scholarship applicant, please submit their information via our website at https://kidschancefl.org/refer-a-student/.
The Kids’ Chance of America Planning for the Future Initiative is designed to identify potential scholarship applicants, especially those who are not yet of college age. Please share this program with your colleagues who encounter injured
workers or their families, especially those that have children who could be eligible for a future scholarship.
